1. Introduction

Welcome to Frynd AI (the "App"), a conversational AI application designed specifically for women. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care, transparency, and respect.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your data. By using our App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information when you use our App:

2.1 Account Information

  • Email address — used to create and manage your account
  • User ID — a unique identifier assigned to your account
  • Username — the display name you choose for your profile

2.2 Conversation Data

  • User chats — the messages and conversations you have with your AI companion
  • Chat summaries — AI-generated summaries of your conversation sessions
  • Chat session metadata — timestamps and session identifiers associated with your conversations

2.3 Mindset & Wellness Data

Based on your conversations, we generate mindset scores across the following five pillars:

  • Emotional State — reflecting your current emotional wellbeing
  • Confidence — reflecting your self-assurance and belief in your abilities
  • Growth Orientation — reflecting your openness to learning and personal development
  • Resilience — reflecting your ability to recover from setbacks
  • Self-Compassion — reflecting how kindly you treat yourself

2.4 User Consent Preferences

We collect and store your explicit consent preference regarding whether you agree to allow your conversation data to be used to improve AI model training.

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 To Provide and Operate the App

  • Authenticate your identity via Google Firebase Authentication
  • Display your conversation history and chat summaries within the App
  • Generate and display your mindset scores across the five pillars
  • Allow you to review your personal growth over time

3.2 To Generate AI Responses and Insights

We send your conversation data to the Anthropic API to perform the following functions:

  • Power real-time AI responses during your live chat sessions with your companion
  • Generate concise summaries of your chat sessions
  • Analyze your conversations to produce mindset scores across the five pillars

Anthropic processes this data as a service provider on our behalf. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy at https://www.anthropic.com/privacy for information on how they handle data.

3.3 For AI Model Training (With Your Consent Only)

If you have explicitly opted in and provided your consent, we may use your conversation data to improve AI model training and enhance the quality of the companion experience. We will never use your data for this purpose without your clear, affirmative consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time through the App settings.

3.4 For Safety and Legal Compliance

  • To detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, or security issues
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations
  • To enforce our Terms of Service

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

All user data — including your account information, chat sessions, summaries, and mindset scores — is stored in Google Firestore, a secure cloud database provided by Google. Authentication is handled through Google Firebase Authentication.

4.2 How We Protect Your Data

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS/TLS
  • Secure cloud infrastructure provided by Google Firebase and Firestore
  • Access controls that limit who can access your data within our organization
  • Regular security reviews of our data practices and infrastructure

4.3 Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the App services. You may request deletion of your data at any time as described in Section 6 below.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party service providers to operate our App. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

We do not sell your personal information to any third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Review

You may access and review your conversation history, chat summaries, and mindset scores at any time directly within the App.

6.2 Delete Individual Chat Sessions

You have the option to permanently delete individual chat sessions directly from within the App. When you delete a chat session:

  • The session chat messages are permanently removed from our systems
  • Any summaries associated with that session are permanently deleted
  • Any mindset scores generated from that session are permanently removed
  • This deletion is irreversible — deleted sessions cannot be recovered

This deletion is processed immediately in Google Firestore and cannot be undone. We encourage you to be certain before permanently deleting any session.

6.3 Delete Your Account and All Data

You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time through the App settings. When you delete your account, the following are permanently deleted from our systems:

  • Your email address, user ID, and username
  • All of your chat sessions and conversation history
  • All chat summaries
  • All mindset scores and wellness data
  • Your stored consent preferences

Account deletion is irreversible. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. All data is permanently erased from Google Firestore and our systems.

6.4 Withdraw AI Training Consent

If you previously consented to allow your data to be used for AI model training, you may withdraw that consent at any time through the App settings. Withdrawal of consent does not affect any data that may have already been processed prior to withdrawal.

6.5 Data Portability

If you would like a copy of your personal data in a portable format, please contact us at the email address listed below. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information as promptly as possible.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at the email address listed below.

8. International Users

Our App is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. By using our App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you may have additional rights under applicable law. Please contact us for more information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices, legal requirements, or App features. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:

  • Displaying a prominent notice within the App
  • Sending a notification to the email address associated with your account
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Beta Testing Notice

The App is currently in a beta testing phase distributed via Apple TestFlight. During this phase, our data practices are as described in this Privacy Policy. As a beta tester, your feedback helps us improve the product. Any feedback or bug reports you submit may be reviewed by our development team.

Data collected during the beta phase is subject to this Privacy Policy. In the event the App undergoes significant changes prior to public launch, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly and notify you.
